Build the Meditation Habit

Meditation is one of the easiest things in the world to do. If you are relaxing and re-balancing your mind, body, and spirit in a mindful way - you are meditating. Tai Chi has been called a "moving meditation." A slow, mindful walk in the park can also be a meditation.

If you want to create more space in your life for relaxing and re-balancing, start by building a soothing meditation ritual for yourself. Stick with your ritual every day. It may be as simple as spending five minutes first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. Breathe easily and fully inhabit your body before getting up. You will find it becomes increasingly easier to relax into a state of well being.

We will begin sharing ideas here as well as on our Path4Change blog that will help you build your meditation habit.

If you don't currently have a regular, mindful meditation routine, it can be helpful to start with a more traditional form of meditation - sitting or laying down and practicing mindful breathing. Eventually, as the state of mind becomes familiar, you can achieve it while doing other things: practicing tai chi or yoga, walking slowly and with intention - even doing the dishes!

Stay tuned for some specific ideas about how to enrich your meditative experience.
